Donkey trail in Corsica for 3 days

The Albertacce Walk

It is imperative to arrive the day before departure at 5 p.m. for a briefing.

 

Itinerary :

 

Departure: Forest track (Possibility of departure Albertacce, see on the spot with the walk).

Former sheepfolds of Tilerga, yellow markup, then recovery of the GR 20 red and white markup.

Arrival: at the Vergio ski resort with the possibility of accommodation in a hotel, lodge or campsite.

Hiking Times : 3H30

Second day

Option 1:


Vergio ski station – Radule sheepfolds. Follow the GR 20 trail (red and white markers).

Hiking time: 3 hours.

 

Option 2:


Castel de Vergio – Lake Nino. Follow the GR 20 trail (red and white markers), round trip.

Hiking time: 8 hours.

Third day

Itinerary Option 1: Radule Sheepfolds

 

Departure: Vergio Ski Station – GR 20 trail (red and white markers) to the Radule Sheepfolds.

Return: From Radule Sheepfolds, follow the GR 20 trail (red and white markers), then take the blue-marked path towards Fer à Cheval.

5:00 PM: Donkey pickup by trailer. Return to La Promenâne.

Hiking time: 2 hours 30 minutes.

 

Itinerary Option 2: Lake Nino

 

Departure: Vergio Ski Station – Nino – Caroline via the GR 20 trail (red and white markers).

Arrival: Lake Nino.

Return: Follow the GR 20 to Col de Saint Pierre, then take the yellow-marked mule path to Fontaine Caroline.

6:00 PM: Donkey pickup by trailer. Return to La Promenâne.

Hiking time:

  • Vergio Ski Station – Nino: 4 hours

  • Nino – Fontaine Caroline: 3 hours 30 minutes

 

Itinerary Option 3: Chemin de Ronde

 

Vergio Ski Station – Follow the GR 20 trail (red and white markers) to the Saint Pierre Pass junction. Then follow the blue-marked trail to Bergeries de Colga, and finally the yellow-marked trail to the Forest House.

5:00 PM: Donkey pickup by trailer. Return to La Promenâne.

Hiking time: 4 hours 30 minutes.

 

Prices: €180 per donkey for two days + €30 transport fee

 

Recommendations: Bring sturdy hiking shoes, warm clothing, a windbreaker, camping gear (sleeping bags, food containers, cutlery), water, and sufficient provisions.
