Donkey trail in Corsica for 5 days

You must arrive the day before departure at 17:00 for a briefing.

 

Itinerary :

 

Departure: Forest track (Possibility to depart from Albertacce, check with La Promenâne on-site).

Old shepherd huts of Tilerga, yellow trail markers, then join the GR 20 with red and white trail markers.

Arrival: Vergio Ski Resort, with accommodation options in a hotel, guesthouse, or campsite.

Day 2

Itinerary :

 

Departure: Vergio ski resort, following the GR20 red and white markers. Lake Nino and the Vaccaghja sheepfolds, still following the GR20.

 

The Vaccaghja sheepfolds are still in operation, selling cheese and brocciu. Noël, the shepherd, will welcome you warmly and make you spend a moment of pure authenticity. If you wish, Noël offers you a package for the bivouac.

No toilets, one shared shower

 

A campsite has been set up with tent and mattress (duvet not provided). The package includes camping, breakfast, picnic (provide tupperware and cutlery) and the evening meal.

Day 3

Itinerary :

 

Lake Creno

Return : to the Vaccaghja sheepfolds


Walking time : 6-hour round trip

 

Day 4

Itinerary :

 

Lake Gloria

Return : to the Vaccaghja sheepfolds.


Walking time : 4-hour round trip

 

Day 5

First option:  


Departure from the Vaccaghja sheepfolds following the yellow markers. Tramizzo sheepfolds - Bocca di l'Arinella - Village of Casamaccioli, following the orange markers. Rest in Casamaccioli.

Walking time : 5.5 to 6.5 hours. Only for experienced hikers. 


Second option: 


Departure from the Vaccaghja sheepfolds along the GR20. Follow the yellow markers from Lake Nino to finish at the Caroline fountain. 

Walking time : 4.5 to 5.5 hours


Price : €300 per donkey for the five days + €30 transport.


Tips :


Bring good walking shoes, warm clothing, a windbreaker, camping equipment (duvets, tupperware and cutery), water and plenty of supplies.
